It’s a profession just like any other profession so the answer is obvious. Blogging for money is the real deal.
The only difference is here you will work -
- From the comfort of your home
- You will be your own boss
- Won’t have to ask anyone for holidays
- Can work from almost anywhere where there is electricity and internet
- You will decide your earnings
- Don’t need a college degree
And many more perks of internet marketing which is nothing but strategies to make money from your blog.
You can either make a million dollars a month, $100,000 a month, $1,000 a month or even nothing.
I’m not here to sell you the dream. I’m here to tell you that this is real.
Your income is directly proportional to the amount of traffic you get on your blog and your conversion rates.
For example look at this picture.
This food blog gets 4 million page views a month and the total monthly revenue is only $48,300.
A great example of traffic driven blog.
And now, here’s the example of a conversion driven blog.
This website gets only 319,000 page views a month but you will be shocked by knowing its earning.
That’s about $1,000,000+ in a month.
As I said, your blog’s earning is related to the amount of traffic and its conversion rates.
Which I've already proved above.
You can make money from your blog either by getting millions of visitors to your blog or by increasing your conversion rates.
It doesn’t mean it’s necessarily going to happen for you.
Nor does it mean that it’s easy or that it will happen overnight.
But it is possible.
The more work you do, the more money you will make and it doesn’t mean you have to trade your time for dollars.
By more work I mean how much time and money you invest in making your blog better and user friendly.
How much value you deliver to your audience.
Are you able to convert them from readers to buyers?
All these things will decide whether you’re going to make money blogging or not.
If yes, then how much?
All these things are going to be revealed here just keep reading.
Who Should Blog?
You should have a blog if any of the following describe you:
- You’re a business owner
- You have a family
- You want to increase your income
- You have a passion for anything
- You want to make a name for yourself
- You want to increase your impact and put a dent in the universe.
- You have anything to say to anyone
- You want to help people
Or anything you can think of.
The information technology is on fire.
If you’re unprepared and behind the time you will be torched to the ground and left in the dust.
This is where the technology is taking us.
In fact, according to a survey done by WordPress over 409 million people view more than 20 billion webpages each month.
This shows how powerful this internet thing is and will become in the future.
Everything is getting online and If you really want to make some huge money from internet, you must become one of the early birds who will have a business generating passive income for life.
What is a Blog?
Imagine stroking a few keys to reach thousands of people, or a small handful of targeted people instantaneously. That’s a blog.
The possibilities of a blog traffic is endless.
According to a research done by Phrasee.co, Huffington post gets 110,000,000 unique monthly visitors.
The beauty of a blog and of the Internet in general is the ability to link to other sites, articles, and resources and to interact with your readers through discussion.
Unlike a book, which is the reader talking to you and only gives you access to the page in front of you, a blog is a conversational approach to sharing information.
While you’re speaking to your audience, you’re linking and referring to outside resources, just as you would in a conversation.
And your audience has the ability to respond and interact with you, your content, and other readers.
A blog allows for connectivity and interactivity, which together can lead to the new riches.
Which is working from the beach and having all the freedoms.
Be it financial freedom or freedom of location.
I have a step-by-step guide to launching your blog.
You can take help from that article and launch your own blog in no time.
Without you being a tech savvy.
This step-by-step guide has it all.
Why Should You Blog?
The answer is simple.
Don’t get me wrong, but the majority of people who start a blog have admitted.
“They started a blog to make more money so that they could ditch their 9-5 day job or any soul crushing job they might have.”
I’m saying this based on my years of experience of blogging and teaching people escape their rat race income and making real laptop passive income.
Another survey, on 1500 pro blogger readers, they have said they are trying to make money by blogging.
But only 4% are making over $10,000 a month.
To make money, you need traffic and for traffic you need to blog.
Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is the art and science of making your site appear on the first few pages of a Google or other search engine search, based on key words and phrases.
For example if you search “how to start a blog” on Google you will see these results because of search engine optimization.
The three primary components of SEO are –
- Keyword-rich content,
- The frequency that your site content is updated, and
Keyword-rich content refers to the words on your web pages.
When a search engine explores your site, it’s looking for, among other things, specific terms to your business/industry/niche in order to determine how relevant your website is to searches by Internet users.
Search engines also like websites that are always being updated and added to.
It tells them that it’s a happening site, that it’s being managed well, which means a greater likelihood of relevance to Internet browsers.
Backlinks refer to other websites that link to your website.
The more links you have to your site, the more weight you have with search engines.
There are hundreds of ways to execute Search Engine Optimization, but blogging is one of the single best ways to do it.
Search engines love blogs. Says hubspot.
Blogging continually adds new, keyword-rich content to your site.
It draws visitors and conversations and secures backlinks.
And it does all of this as a natural process, without you having to be technically savvy, all you have to do is blog on a regular basis.
Apart from money you can also blog to –
Speak your mind and share your passion.
Blogging communities exist for every topic and purpose imaginable, from art lovers to photography buffs, environmentalists to dog lovers, technology geeks to marketing gurus.
In the past you may have had the excuse that your passion is in such a narrow niche that no one is interested.
A blog gives you access to millions of people and takes away that excuse.
You’re a human being. By definition this means that you have important things to say and you have things that you care about.
Don’t keep them to yourself, create value for others by blogging about them.
A blog is your outlet for sharing your gifts and interests.
Blogging is one of the most powerful ways to have an online presence.
It establishes trust and credibility, builds relationship and community,
Make you speak your mind and share your passions, steer conversations, and make a difference,
Drive traffic to your website and ultimately make money in whatever amount you want.
How to do blogging for money
Blogging for money is no different than simply blogging about anything.
Once you start getting the traffic to your blog at least 1000 visitors a month, the opportunities to make money rises.
The more targeted audience you receive the more money your blog makes.
All you have to do is simply find ways to monetize your blog (next part) and take massive action on them.
Here are the main ways to earn money blogging:
- Affiliate Marketing
- Product Sales
Advertising is the most common and easiest way to make money from a blog and one the best ad network for starters is -
Google Adsense automatically crawls the content of your pages and delivers ads (you can choose both text or image ads) that are relevant to your audience and your site content, ads so well-matched.
In fact, that your readers will actually find them useful.
As we all know how powerful the artificial intelligence of Google is.
Google shows you ads based on users search history and preference.
For example look at this picture.
Forbes is earning money for advertising and for your kind information these are ads by Google adsense and the whole site is filled with ads.
It’s easy to set up an account, and once you have one you’re given code to insert into your site, which allows Google Ads to display anywhere you want them to on your site.
When people click on the ads, you get paid a small commission.
Adsense Pros: Easy to set up, ads are automatically generated to be relevant to your site’s content and open doors for other big ad networks like AdThrive and MediaVine where you can earn ridiculously high dollars.
Adsense Cons: Relatively small income potential, can clutter up your site if used excessively, advertising may marginalize your particular message.
Which is why I don’t advertise on my blog TheBlogIncubator
The Key To Success For Advertising:
Consistently deliver quality content and market your blog well in order to drive massive amounts of traffic.
If you’re getting less than 10,000 page views per month, your ad revenues will be marginal at best.
To earn more by advertising you need to become publisher partner of either AdThrive or MediaVine.
They pay up-to 5X more than Google adsene.
Affiliate marketing allows you to earn a commission by recommending and selling the products of others to your audience.
It’s a revenue sharing agreement between you and online merchants.
Depending on your niche and your audience, this can be one of the most powerful and lucrative ways to earn money blogging.
It’s a beautiful arrangement because it eliminates the need for you to develop and market your own products.
For example look at this image –
Neil Patel is an affiliate to Bluehost company and every time he sends them a customer he earns a commission.
Here comes the sucker part.
He doesn’t get commission just one time. He keeps getting money every month.
How? You ask.
Bluehost is domain registrar and web hosting company, all its customers pay recurring payment to the company.
Therefore every lead sent from Neil Patel pays Bluehost, Neil gets commission.
He doesn’t need to worry about anything.
And might have sent bluehost thousands of customers summing up to a big amount of money from affiliate commission.
Bluehost is not the only site you can become affiliate to.
There’re several companies as well such as email service providers etc…
For example Aweber, Getresponse etc..
Just sign up to those companies as an affiliate and voila now you’re an affiliate.
You can also earn commission or better say recurring commission (monthly) without having to do anything afterwards.
To become an affiliate look at the footer of the websites such as this and then sign up.
My other favorite place is Clickbank.
It gives you 1000s of digital products of your niche where you can just grab the hoplink and offer it to your blog readers and subscribers.
Just click the promote button and you will be given your affiliate link.
Which you then offer to your readers by placing them in your blog’s content or sending them a direct email letting them know about it.
If they buy you will get up-to 75% commission and that’s a pretty powerful thing.
Perform diligent research to identify products that create real value in the marketplace, rather than hyped products that aren’t much more than Internet “fluff.”
You’re not creating anything just promoting other’s business’s products and earning passive income day in, day out.
But it’s not that easy either.
Your job is to understand the customer and to persuade them to convert.
The ultimate affiliate marketer is someone who can create a win / win situation for all parties involved.
- You profit.
- The company profits.
- And the customer gets connected to a product or service that benefits them.
Don’t try to sell things that people don’t need, find affiliate products where there is actual market demand, then market them with integrity.
Another thing you can consider to make money from your blog is to ask for donations.
Yup, “Donate” button never died. In fact it’s replaced by BuyMeACoffee.
This method is not for everyone, but if your blog provides information to readers, especially if this information is not readily available in a free format, readers will not have a problem sending you some cha-chings.
If your blog is opinion based, you may not get as much of a response, but it can still be worth a shot. 😉
Likewise, if your blog is monetized with many other advertising and affiliate opportunities, readers will be less inclined to make donations.
You may want to consider giving readers a way to donate if your blog is just starting out and you offer information of value to your readers.
If you do not have a huge readership, donations may be a good way to make enough income to continue your blog until you can utilize other monetization methods that require more traffic.
Remember, like any monetization method having a good amount of traffic and offering quality content is the key to being successful.
You will not collect many donations if you do not have many readers or offer them something of value. This is why your blogs content and traffic are important.
Make sure you give your readers a reason to come back and a reason to donate, so they do not miss the next installment of your blog.
If readers value what you write they will not hesitate to donate to keep your blog going.
This is where the big players play.
The types of products that you can sell through a blog are unlimited.
You can sell digital products such as e-books, audio and video downloads, newsletters, and informational courses.
The advantage of e-products is that there is no client fulfillment, no warehousing and inventory management, and no shipping.
You set up the infrastructure one time and customers download the products automatically.
For many blogs, physical products, such as t-shirts, merchandise, books, and hard copy newsletters, can also be great sources of supplemental income.
In either case, various platforms exist which can be plugged into your existing blog platform.
To sell your products effectively you can sign up on Clickfunnels and have your sales funnel built.
This is how a typical sales funnel looks like.
Where you make your blog’s traffic into gold.
This principle works on AIDA formula.
AIDA stands for Awareness, Interest, Desire and Action
If I keep writing about sales funnel then I’m never going to stop.
It will go days in and days out.
Since this article is about blogging and possibilities of earning money from blog I’m only touching this part a little bit.
To master the art of selling your own products you would need humongous amount of knowledge and experience.
Since it’s the real business and game of big players you must be open to learning marketing strategies for real.
In fact, this product-sales training is a business on steroids.
People are making fortune teaching this thing.
How to sell your own products online and make a 5-figure income or more each and every month.
I also teach this but only to the mastermind group of The Blog Incubator.

It takes time and effort
It takes a lot of time and effort to start an online blog and even more so to get people to read about them and be interested.
The success of an online blog usually depends on the number of target audience and your conversion rates as I said earlier in this post.
It is not just about the contents of the blog.
It is also about online blog readership.
And without good content and conversation with your readers you can’t do shit of the blog readership.
And this is done by solving the burning pains of your readers and giving them some quick wins without asking in return immediately.
